Biden Puts Trump on Notice With Record-Breaking Haul

(UnitedVoice.com) – The 2024 election is likely to be one of the most watched in American history. The rematch between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump already has people on the edge of their seats. New fundraising numbers show Democrats are pouring their money into trying to beat the Republican candidate.

On March 17, Biden’s campaign announced it raised over $53 million in February. The fundraising was done in partnership with the Democratic Party. At the end of January, the president and the party had $130 million in their shared account. That has now increased to $155 million.

The campaign stated that the money was raised primarily through small-dollar donations. Almost half a million people donated to the president’s campaign reelection fund. Experts believe that is evidence that despite Biden’s terrible polling, there’s a lot of grassroots support.

Biden’s campaign is using the money it has to open more than 100 campaign offices across the country. Staffers also launched a massive $30 million ad campaign in key states such as Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

Campaign Finance Chair Rufus Gifford told The Washington Post, “Every single dime that [the campaign] raise[s] right now is going to talk to voters” using various mediums. Meanwhile, he pointed out, Trump is using “tens of millions of dollars on legal fees.”

Trump is holding campaign rallies across the country, but he’s also fighting battles on many different legal fronts. The Trump campaign hasn’t released its latest fundraising totals, but the Republican National Committee had approximately $40 million in cash on hand at the end of January.

That’s much less than the party would like to have had as it moves into a very competitive campaign season. The low fundraising totals are also one of the reasons former RNC Chair Ronna Romney McDaniel stepped down from her position.

The good news for the Trump campaign is that the general election is just getting underway. He still has plenty of time to raise money before the crunch time after the RNC Convention this summer.
