(UnitedVoice.com) – Dennis Quaid made a name for himself as an A-list actor, starring in films like “The Parent Trap” and “Any Given Sunday.” He’s also been a patient-safety advocate since his 10-day-old twins almost died in 2007 when they were given 1,000 times the regular dose of heparin, a blood thinner, at the hospital. The actor has now made an endorsement for president.
During an interview on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” Quaid announced he will be voting for former President Donald Trump again. He claimed he wasn’t going to vote for him but then felt a sense of duty because of the “weaponization of our justice system,” which he called a “challenge to our Constitution.”
The veteran actor called the former president “the most investigated person […] in the history of the world” and claimed that nobody has been able to “really get him on anything.” He said he still can’t figure out what Trump is accused of committing in the financial crimes trial in New York.
Quaid talked about Trump’s last term as president and applauded him for standing up for America with foreign leaders. He summed up his feelings for the former POTUS saying that some people might think Trump is “an a–hole, but he’s my a–hole.”
This isn’t the first time Quaid has endorsed Trump. The actor was also an avid supporter in 2020. During that campaign, The Daily Beast reported that Quaid said he thought Trump was handling the world health crisis well.
Quaid is starring in an upcoming political biographical historical drama about former President Ronald Reagan. He will play the role of the POTUS. In the interview, he talked about the role and said he was “overwhelmed by it.” He explained that Reagan was his favorite commander-in-chief and said he “idolized him a bit.” The Republican president was a former actor as well. In 1984, he won 49 of the 50 US states and sailed to victory in his reelection campaign.
Quaid’s brother, Randy Quaid, is also a supporter of the former president.
