Abbott Blasts Biden’s Border Catastrophe During Convention Speech

(UnitedVoice.com) – The 2024 Republican National Convention (RNC) was a star-studded event. Kid Rock, Hulk Hogan, Amber Rose, and several other high-profile celebrities made appearances. Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) also spoke and ripped President Joe Biden apart.

The third night of the RNC convention focused on illegal immigration. As a border state governor, Abbott was uniquely positioned to speak at the event. Over the past few years, he has implemented a program to bus and fly migrants to Democratic-led cities and states. During his RNC speech, Abbott declared, “It is time to rid our streets of crime and chaos.”

The governor called on the country to reelect former President Donald Trump. He claimed the Biden administration has allowed “rapists, murderers, and even terrorists” into the country. Abbott told the crowd that he had been on the frontline during the crisis. He said the President “deserted his duty on his first day in office.”

Abbott explained that Biden had completely “gutted” the former president’s policies, and the results have “been catastrophic.” The governor had the crowd on their feet while he tore into Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, saying that he “took the border to them” by sending busloads of migrants to sanctuary cities and states. The strategy was wildly successful, causing Democratic leaders, like New York City Mayor Eric Adams, to lash out at the president and VP.

In the days after Abbott’s speech, Biden dropped out of the presidential race. Democrats will choose a new candidate at the Democratic National Convention in August. The president endorsed Harris to be the next nominee. If she wins the support of the delegates, she will undoubtedly have to deal with the baggage that has resulted from the administration’s failed border security policies.

Abbott has already responded to the news, saying he will “need to triple the border wall, razor wire barriers and National Guard on the border” now that Biden has endorsed Harris.
