(UnitedVoice.com) – A Republican congressman has caused a stir by making a bold claim about extraterrestrial life. Representative Tim Burchett (R-TN) dramatically announced that aliens are real, but their existence is being covered up by the federal government. He says he tried to reveal the truth but was shut down by Washington’s vested interests.
On December 26, Burchett, a former Knox County mayor who’s represented Tennessee’s 2nd District in Congress since 2019, appeared on Newsmax’s “Rob Schmitt Tonight.” While there, he claimed that aliens exist and that the federal government has at least some knowledge about them but is keeping it secret. He said he tried to add a rider to the 2024 Defence Authorization Act that would have required the government to release the information, but his proposal was cut.
When asked why the administration is so determined to preserve secrecy about alien visitors, Burchett replied that “it would put the Pentagon out of business.” He said there’s been “a cover-up since day one” and claimed the US military would want research funding if the government publicly admitted the existence of aliens. Instead, he said, it’s all been handed over to defense contractors, which can’t be subjected to Freedom of Information Act requests because they’re private enterprises, not government branches.
This isn’t the first time Burchett has raised the subject of aliens. Last July, he chaired a House panel on the subject and pressed for full disclosure of what the government knows about UFOs. Instead, Congress passed more limited legislation that would release some, but not all, information; the rest must be released within 25 years.
Burchett claims the intelligence community was behind the move; other sources say the Pentagon also fought back against full disclosure. Does our government really have definite proof aliens exist? Who knows? What’s becoming clear is that they know SOMETHING they don’t want to tell us about.
