(UnitedVoice.com) – Former First Lady Michelle Obama was an outspoken critic of former President Donald Trump when he ran for the White House in 2016. All of her hysteria didn’t prevent him from winning. Now, it appears he’s going to win the GOP primary, and she is “terrified” of what’s going to happen in November.
The latest episode of Jay Shetty’s “On Purpose” podcast came out on January 9. Obama joined Shetty to talk about a variety of topics, including the upcoming presidential election. She said that the people America elects to represent them matter and that it impacts them in ways that “people take for granted.”
The former first lady went on to say that some people believe that the government doesn’t do anything, and it always makes her say, “Oh my God, does government do everything for us, and we cannot take this democracy for granted.” She continued, saying that the thought that people take it for granted keeps her up at night.
Obama told Shetty that the tone America’s leaders take also matters. She said they shouldn’t just say the first thing that pops into their heads because it’s “childish.” She also pulled the race card during the interview, saying there was a double standard surrounding former President Donald Trump’s four indictments and 90+ felony charges. She said a black person would not be able to run for office if they had been indicted that many times.
The former first lady’s remarks came days after a report by The Washington Post claimed her husband, former President Barack Obama, warned Biden about the possibility of Trump being reelected. The two men had a private lunch at the White House sometime in recent months, and Obama reportedly said that Biden should allow top officials in his campaign to make decisions without clearing them with the White House. Like his wife, FPOTUS Obama thinks Trump has a real shot at winning in November. Pollsters agree; multiple polls show Trump beating Biden.
